Hi everyone

I bought a 320i recently .....it was driving fine but had high fuel consumption (R750 and only got 483km).

Aircon panel doesn't come on at all - but that's not ,y worry.

So, the issue: my car lost power, it drives very very slow...it's in limp mode (3rd gear).

What could the issues be, who can help with reading codes? I'm in Alberton.

I will be most working on the car tomorrow (later today as it's already 1:30am),

I am looking for spares on my E46 (pre-facelift 2000 model), my kids had a little accident when swerving to avoid a dog. Right front fender, front bumper, right corner lamp, right rearview mirror. Anyone that can point me in the right direction?

Hey guys

i hope you guys can help me with a little issue/worry that i am experiencing

my 2011 E90 Lci sometimes when it shifts from 3rd to 4th and 2nd to 3rd the change is not smooth its very jerky and harsh so at first i thought maybe the gear was damaged by the previous owner but this issue only happens at slow speeds and very little throttle , if you go flat out the shifts are perfect. i recall seeing a post about resetting the auto-box but i cant seem to find it.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? i want to do software on my car soon but i am scared because of this issue that if i add more torque through the gearbox that it might pack up on me and as I've heard they don't come cheap.

can anyone please shed some light on this?

Hi all,

My helper complained that the garage was full of oil on the floor and she had cleaned it up.

After my attempts to start my E36 I noticed the clutch has no resistance and was stuck in. I could pull it out though. My immediate thoughts were slave cylinder, but could not confirm as the leak was cleaned.

Questions for you fine folk:
1. Could it be anything else?
2. Do I need an OEM part, or does Goldwagen store the same?
3. Anybody have the part number for the slave cylinder?
4. Any tips on install for the slave cylinder? I know that this could be bad news if installed incorrectly.

I have a e90 facelift 335i 2010, which had a coolant leak in December 2016. I decided keep the service history and take it to the agents in Claremont (Auric Auto), who replaced the radiator. By March 2017 the problem returned and so I went back to Auric who replaced the radiator once again. By July 2017 the problem again returns and so Auric does lots of tests to verify the problem and once again replaced the radiator. Now at this point I'm just frustrated because the problem is back since yesterday and my coolant level warning appeared. Any ideas to solve this problem will be appreciated. A few guys I have spoken to seem to think it could be a blown gasket or water pump.

Sup guys .

Hope all is well .

After owning the car for more than 3yrs , the battery decided to show a signal on the instrument cluster .

What worries me is the price .. R3500 raylite for a 658 battery . Yasses is thus correct ?

Will Dixon or Willard suffice ? Varta is also dam expensive .

Any suggestions ?

Good day Fanatics

My I-Drive notified me that my rear brake pads need replacing. I went ahead and got a quote from BMW Zambezi and then decided to perhaps give the new Bosch Service center in Hatfield (previously BMW Leo Haese) a try.

They gave me a quote for original parts which was also cheaper than BMW Zambezi quote. I then also asked for an alternative parts quote.

They replied with the quote and told me the alternative brake components they use are Surebrake, does any of you know the brand and used it before.

I never heard of the brand before, only used BMW original parts till now.
Only aftermarket brakes I ever tried was ATE and Ferodo on my previous car and both of them had terrible squeals.

Hi Everyone

Please can someone help me make sense of whats happening here...

I bought a 2nd hand e90 323i 2007 model, N52 engine, the car is fine no problems (so far) but I would notice some misfire/vibrating/shaking esp in the morning, and upon searching it turned out spark plugs/coil packs can cause this, now since she was (almost) due for service thought it would be a wise idea to start there.... provided my VIN, got a service kit, everything else on the kit is fine except my spark plugs!!

This is the spark plug I got from the shop:
Bosch FR7NPP332


This is the one that came out of the car:
NGK BKR6EQUP


Coil pack written: 0 221 504 464


Now according to realoem.com and a few other sites, the Bosch is the correct plug for this car (N52 Engine)




So one would think simply putting in the right plug would solve the issue, but that doesn't seem to be the case:-

1. The plug goes in only about half way, almost the same length of the wrong plug threads
2. Since the plug is not fully in, the coil pack no longer goes in fully (infact you can feel the tip of the plug touch the end of the coil pack in the shaft, but the sealing rubber never reaches where its supposed to sit and lock, making the coil loose and move around freely.

Now what could have happened? The NGK plug comes out of a e46, but what could have caused the swap, and where the coil packs also swapped? Is there a difference perhaps in length between e46 and e90 coils?

What can I do to rectify this, I guess one could refit the e46 plugs but I'm afraid that's only going to cause problems in the long run? could they have swapped my coil packs with those from an e46 (thats if their not the same length) at some point perhaps? and if not swapped/or if their same length then what could cause the plug to not go in fully?

What options do I have?

Where is the best place to sell a car outright?

I’ve tried various dealers but they offer stupidly low numbers, presumably because they are not doing much business or want to make abnormal profits on a single car.

I feel like Autotrader and the like is too much risk. Wheelie, Webuycars etc all useless as well

Ideas?

Hey Guys
I noticed today, when i locked my car , my sunroof seems to be lower than the roof lining.
When on tilt or open its fine, just when i close it completely is when i notice this.

What can be done to get it back to how it was.

Hello All

My 320i is now 2 years old and I am extremely happy with it. However some mornings / or when the engine is cold, I have irregular idling. Car will run at about 1200-1300 rpm and then dip down to 800 or so revs and then climb back to 1200. If I put it into gear to move off the drop is a little lower and almost seems to want to stall. On the move car is fine after 1 or 2 km if I come to a stop. Almost as if choke is turned off after initial fire up? It never seems struggles or fails to start. 37000km on the clock.
10 years ago the 1400 Nissan acted exactly the same but that had a manual choke I could control. Wife thinks it is incredibly funny that her I20 at 7 years old is a lot smoother on start up.
Any ideas?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum but have been driving BMW since 2009. I started out in a pre-owned 2006 120d (manual), then switched to a new 320i (e90 manual) in 2011 before getting the f30 320i A/T sport line in 2012. I've recently leased 2017 320i Msport.

I'm enjoying the drive and it certainly feels sportier compared to my previous car but what I really wanted was the 330i. I just couldn't afford the price jump. Are there any BMW performance upgrades one can do to give the car a bit more oomph? I'm not looking for anything ridiculous and I don't want to void the motorplan.

Hi Guys,

My 2009 330d has all the features for the bluetooth. mic and buttons etc but for some reason i cant connect to it, I suspect the module is either missing or stopped working.

I would like to replace this module or get the missing parts(or just fix it, whatever is required)

Do anyone know where I can buy this and give me a price indication on it please.

Also maybe a guide on how to install this module once acquired.

Good day Fanatics

This weekend I serviced my E90 320D LCI, The motor is the 130kw N47 motor. I did a Oil and brake service.

When fitting back the engine cover I noticed this plug hanging loose.

* how do I rotate the Image, on my computer it displays correctly when viewing it on my desktop

Does anyone know where it should be plugged in. I didn't plug it out so have no idea where it must go.

This weekend I did a Oil service to my car. This is the first time I did anything DIY maintenance wise to my car.

I noticed that the charged air line is damaged, looks like it has been damaged with a tool by the dealership who did my previous oil service.

Does anybody know where can I get this pipe in Pretoria. Dealerships is asking R7k for the pipe.

Please can someone help shed some light on an issue that has been plaguing my car for the last few years.

I had the standard exhaust removed including manifold and a sports exhaust installed. Directly thereafter, and not related to the current issue, the car started smoking. Catalytic converters were masking a valve stem guide issue that the previous owner caused by meddling where they shouldn't have. That was solved.

Then I started to notice the car cutting power or hesitating around a right hand corner every now and then. This grew to cutting power sporadically and eventually being completely retarded at low engine revs, sometimes up to 6500.

I sent my car to a mechanic I trust who consulted various BMW specialists and had it on many launches. We went through changing VANOS, coil packs, injectors and various other items - thankfully he never got brand new but swapped from vehicles that worked to confirm whether this made a difference to no avail.

There have been a variety of fault codes from Valvetronic eccentric shaft sensor (which was replaced, this time at cost), O2 sensors ageing, heating, mixed up, misfire on various cylinders and plausibilization exhaust gas oxygen sensor.

Spark plugs have been replaced many times, injectors cleaned, valvetronic motors cleaned, engine flushed, timing checked and rechecked. Every time we think the problem is sorted it flares up again after a few days. Ever so slightly at first but then to a point where it becomes undriveable.

There are very few options now except to try and reinstall an exhaust manifold with O2 sensors and hope that solves the problem. I used to love the car so much but it has become such a frustration, I haven't been able to drive it for the last 3 months as it is currently on firing on 3 cylinders.

Morning guys,my waterpump has reached 92k mark,i hear this pumps failed anytime between 60k to 90k ,must i be worried since m on a 92k,and are there any of you guys who achieved 100k mark with this pumps without a problem?

Hi BMW Fans

so I have had my car for just over a year, and since the last service I have sent it to BMW, after that the car has a sound as if it is misfiring, although all the power is still there, the sound is louder when cold, plus on start a small white puff comes out but is not continuous.

the misfire sound is as if the timing is slightly off but the rev counter does not bounce at all.

again the car has all its power etc.

if anyone might know or suggest what this could be I would truly appreciate it. hope it is something simple such as a filter. and not the injectors or pumps.
