I'm looking for the black mirror housing for my busted right rearview mirror. Everyone seems to be trying to sell me a complete mirror but that's not what I want. pointers anyone?

Hi Guys,

On Saturday these 3 lights came on at the same time while I was driving. When I arrived at my destination and switched off for the evening, the next day the lights did switch on in the morning. On my way back, the lights came on again.

After some googling, lots of guys says it is the speed sensor. How would I test each sensor as I understand that there are 1 per wheel?



Then I ran a diag on rheingold and it came up with Steering angle implausible. Which one should I start with?

Hi guys,

How many of you guys use the paddle shifting when in M/S ?
Have you noticed the "harsh" shifts from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd - I don't use it often, when i did the car was still in Comfort mode and didnt give it beans just about to 3000/3500rpm just wanted to use the paddles a bit, but came on another site and seems as its normal...

Guessing I'm not use to the BMW box though - in normal Auto its smooth - can feel a change here and there but not "harsh" at all.

Then onto the 2nd thing, I've noticed a small amount of oil between the Gearbox and Oil Pan from date of delivery and dealership says all is normal (They have changed the tappet cover gasket as there was a a small amount of oil at the back, as well as the oil filter housing gasket as a precaution they changed)

So not sure where this small amount will come from then - as the dealership still says they cant see where its coming from, also have a letter from BMW SA where they state that all is in spec - I know not everyone will lie down and check under the car if anything is funny or not, I'm just that kind of guy

Ive cleaned it to look like this (22 July)


And Yesterday (14 Aug) Before i cleaned it in July it did look like below aswell - not as much as on the screw...




So not sure where to say its coming from or how big of a problem it is...

Good Day Everyone,

So we are looking for my brother for a economical runaround for University. He has his heart set on an E46 3 Series like I had. However he has taken a liking to the E46 compact. In this case we are considering a 318ti. Due to not wanting it to be too fast as he only got his license recently and only starting varsity in January.

Can everyone please give me a few things to look out for when purchasing? I know of the obvious Vanos problems and will not consider a vehicle with such issues due to the fact that I will have to maintain the car for him.

We are currently considering the following vehicle:

My biggest concern is the mileage however the vehicle does look good. I intend on test driving it in the week.

Hi guys. I own a 2011 E90 320i. I have a suspected flywheel rattle...now the question is must/should I replace with a duel mass or can I go for a solid one. LUK has a kit that includes a solid wheel at half the price. My understanding with the dmf is to absorb vibration for a smoother ride. Isn't that only applicable to diesel engines with a lot of vibrations. Xan anyone please shed some light on this dilemma. Thanks. Dewald

I've got the smg2 wheel already. Just looking for the slipring now (These things are scarce as chicken teeth by the look of it)

Hi, I need some Help or Advice Please.
I drive a 2013 F30 330d Sports Tip Tronic with the paddle Shift.
I got the attached Message on my Display While Driving it on comes on at Certain Times.

Can anyone please Maybe Please Explain whats Wrong and If I can Fix it myself or Rather Take it to a BMW Shop or Bmw Gearbox Specialist. Any Help, Suggestions, Advice Would Greatly be Appreciated.
The Car is now on 123000 KM on the Clocks and all Services was always Done

Hi,

I have come across a 2009 325i for sale.
100 000km FSH. The price is reasonable and the vehicle is in good condition.

My concerns are mainly on fuel consumption as well as repairs and maintenance costs in the near future.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

So Earlier today I pressed the key to open the boot and nothing happened, moved slightly closer and pressed again and still nothing lol I panicked and pressed to open the doors and it worked *whew* so I went inside and pressed the boot release button and it still didn't open, The key did the trick but I can't live like that

Any suggestions what to fix or check? I went through some threads and they were mostly dead ends to the solution.

Hi Guys, i dont know if this is the right place to post, I was driving my car yesterday and i stopped at the garage to put in petrol, but when i tried to start it again it wouldn't start.
things ive cheched:
fuel pump is working
no power going to fuel pump
fuse 18 is good
fuel pump and dme relays are good.

please help

I've noticed recently that the water in the coolant overflow reservoir is always low when I check it. I haven't noticed any leaks and so far there haven't been any warnings from the car.
I am concerned because we are heading into the summer period and I would like to get ahead of this.
Do you guys have any tips or are there any common problems that can cause this issue. My hope is that this can be an easy fix that I can get done myself.

Hi, I hope that some forum members could help me. My 2007 320d e90 has been smoking on start up and once or twice its lost boost. Recently I experienced a mini version of a runaway. All possible signs are that the turbo needs to be replaced. Does anybody know of a good place to get this done in Durban. Don't really want to spend the R25k at BMW dealer. The breather valve has already been changed but that has not solved the problem. Also does anybody have any experience with doing a recon of the turbo. Thanks in advance for the help.

Evening Gents.

Need advice, i got a 2A13 and 2A18 Code's when scanning and found that my DMTL Pump could be faulty as both are DMTL Pump Relatyed, Been doing alot of homework and R&D and wanted to know where the pump sits, some say its behind the front left wheel arch, then Rear Driver Side Wheel arch so im abit stumped, Seems like a cheap DIY fix, i want to have it sorted for preventative maintenance.

The wife dropped the kids off this morning and when she got back, the Radiator water bottle was boiling. Could that be a sign of a failing water pump?

Hi Guys,

Can the tab be replaced on the air vent in the center of the of the dashboard just under the screen (this is on a F30 320d)? The silver lining on the tab has started peeling off for some reason. Any advice would be awesome.

Hi guys. Just putting some feelers out there. I was wondering whether it's possible to buy a sump for my 2014 BMW 320i MSPort and to let someone other then the dealer fit it for me off the books, they are crazy expensive.
I'm also looking for the some good panelbeaters to repair some minor dents an scratches I have as well as rim refurbishing.
