Engine oil light.

Good day Fanatics.

I have a 330d 2002 e46 manual. I bought it last week Saterday, I've posted on monday if im correct, of the car thats using oil and water. So I was advised to take it to a Bmw mechanic. I then took it to Adelberg Auto, a workshop here by us who only specialize in BMW. They said my oil cooler (not transmission cooler) is the problem. I'm replacing it tomorrow with a new one.

Yesterday I drove with the car but very cautious as for im aware of the problem. When I arrived by my destination I heard the car had alot of steam to get rid of so there was so a blowing (dono if im describing it right) sound on the pipe next to where you throw the coolant in. Im taking it as a tipe of steam releaser thing. When i switch the ignition on then the red oil light comes on which is normal and then it switches off again when the car is started. But two seconds after the red one is off then the yellow/orange oil light comes on but so after 5 seconds that one also switches off.

I want to know if its normal signs that it shows when there's a problem with the oil cooler? Oh ja, and the front of the car stinks of the smell of oil.
