Hi boys and girls, I recently bought a 2011 BMW 520d F10, it has 189 000km, the car was submerged under water, don't know for how long and don't know how deep, so all the the electronics appear to in good working order. It does start, it had water in the oil although not to much, not too milky, I'm not sure if anyone worked on it prior to me buying the car, the transmission fluid appears to okay, it has a terrible knocking sound and produces heavy white smoke and vibrates violently, it has no power. So I stripped the interior and vacuumed 90% of the water under the carpets and cleaned some mold. I then drained the oil and put new oil and new filter and liquimoly diesel engine flush, then drained the oil, and put new oil and oil filter, still no better, upon inspection of the oil, it had metal shavings in the oil. So I diagnosed it with the Carly BMW app on my phone, I had about 23 fault codes from engine to transmission, so I cleared the codes (by the way there was engine lights on the cluster or idrive), so I let it run again for about 15min to get it to operating temperature and drove slowly up and down my street, no overheating, so I ran the diagnostic app again and now only the Crankshaft sensor error appeared, cleared it, ran the car again and diagnosed it again, same Crankshaft sensor error, replaced the crankshaft sensor and cleared the code, now the camshaft sensor error code appears. I am sure the rod bearings are toast. What else could be wrong with the engine, as far as I can tell, the turbo looks good.
Please advise, I would greatly appreciate it.![[Image: f4efc5d5bce4b9ab38bfb92273b08d74.jpg]]()
